Our new Christmas venture

Cradley Heath Salvation Army Songsters are pleased to announce the details of their annual Christmas Carol event for 2009.
For the last ten years, the event has taken the form of a traditional candle-lit Festival of Lessons and Carols, following the form of the famous carol service from King’s College, Cambridge.
This year, the format of the event has changed. Instead, the event will be a concert, featuring a number of contemporary Christmas songs from the Songsters, an opportunity for the congregation to join in traditional Christmas carols and all interspersed with selected readings from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
A Christmas Carol’s themes of conversion and redemption seem appropriate for such an evening and it is hoped that listeners hearing the readings along with our music will pause to think how best to show the Christian values of kindness, generosity and compassion.
The Cradley Heath Christmas Carol concert takes place at The Salvation Army, Meredith Street, Cradley Heath, West Midlands B64 5EP on Sunday 13 December 2009 at 6:00pm. Admission is free and coffee and mince pies will be served at the conclusion of the evening.
We’d love you to join us!
